Kathak Darpan Trust a leading kathak Institute promoted by Mrs Neha Banerjee, in Neelankarai, Chennai to promote Kathak Classical Dance training and Hindustani Music is producing and featuring first ever confluence of Kathak Dance with Drums and Percussion, named “Dancing Waters”, on the theme of Water Conservation on Sept 24th, Saturday from 6.30 pm, at Sir Mutha Concert Hall (Lady Andal).
Neha’s Ensemble brings this show which is a fusion of Kathak and Drums by none other than Kalaimamani Sivamani. First season of Dancing waters was conducted in Mumbai which became a super hit show. This show is a celebration of rains and clouds and tells us how the environment brings out different emotions in us.
To decorate the compositions each Raag is picked very tastefully like Megh Malhar, Miya Malhar, Desh Raag, all these are raags of rains. This show is a unique show, audience will witness Pure Lucknow Gharana Kathak with Kalaimamani Sivamanij Percussions, first time ever in Chennai. Music is composed by Shri Somnath Mishra & Vivek Mishra .
Neha Banerjee is a Disciple of Late Pt Birju Maharajji and brings the grace and elegance of Lucknow Gharana with her. The Music team of Dancing waters includes accomplished Banaras Gharana artists . Chennai will also get to witness beautiful voice of Runaa Rizvii Sivamani In the show. Dancing Waters is a 90 minute visual treat for the audience, with all effects of lights and sound.
