Chennai 10.06.2023: Celebrating the amazing mélange of finest cuisines, Phoenix Marketcity, one of the premium malls in Chennai hosted an extravagant cooking masterclass by celebrity Chef Sanjeev Kapoor on 10^th June 2023 (Saturday) from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Central Atrium of the mall. Adding finesse in preparing the most delicious dishes across different regions, Chef Sanjeev Kapoor did a live fusion cooking demonstration offering 8 recipes of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections along with dessert dishes for the enthusiastic audience comprising around 2000 participants. Chefs from In-house brands of the mall namely Copper Chimney, Rajdhani, Punjabi Grill Toscano, Kobe Sizzlers, The Masala Story, Mainland China, Jonah’s Bistro, Carl’s Kitchen, and Annam Café were invited for a special tasting session and were awarded special trophies during the interesting 2-hour workshop.  

Phoenix Marketcity, Chennai turned out to be the rendezvous of several inquisitive and passionate cooking aficionados learning to excel with their culinary skills and waiting to catch a glimpse of their favorite celebrity Chef.  This one-of-a-kind masterclass by the chef was a lifetime experience for the people of Chennai. The participants witnessed a live opportunity to interact and take pictures with the chef, and taste special dishes prepared by the Chef. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor started his journey at the age of 27 and has been a recipient of Padma Shri, the highest civilian award of the country for his contribution in Culinary Art. He has also written several books on cooking which have been bestsellers and guides for many and runs his own TV Channel Food-Food apart from handling the longest running show of Asia Khana Khazana.

The masterclass allowed the participants to bring in different cooking styles and techniques to their kitchen, and were provided gourmet treats, where they witnessed an amalgamation of traditional Indian with Italian, or a fine blend of two Asian cuisines. The masterclass included recipes of Blue Pea Fried Rice with Chili Garlic Prawns, Biryani Arancini with Raw Mango Kadhi Baked Yogurt with Kaffir Lime & Pistachio, Hibiscus Tea, and many other mouth-watering recipes by the legendary Chef – Sanjeev Kapoor.

தமிழ் மற்றும் மலையாளத்தில் வசனம் எழுதி இருக்கும் ஆனந்த் குமரேசன் பேசுகையில், '' சார்ல்ஸ் எண்டர்பிரைசஸ் படத்தின் மலையாள பதிப்பில் தமிழ் கதாபாத்திரங்கள் இடம் பிடித்திருந்தன. அங்கு தமிழர்கள் வாழும் பகுதியில் கதை நடப்பது போல் திரைக்கதை அமைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. அந்தப் பகுதியில் வாழும் தமிழரான கலையரசன் எனும் கதாபாத்திரத்திற்காக தமிழில் வசனம் எழுதினேன். அதன் பிறகு இந்த படம் தமிழ் ரசிகர்களுக்கும் பொருத்தமானதாக இருக்கும் என படக் குழுவினர் தீர்மானித்தனர். அதன் பிறகு தமிழுக்கு ஏற்ற வகையில் மாற்றம் செய்தேன். தமிழ் ரசிகர்களுக்கும் ஏற்ற என்டர்டெய்னராக இந்த படம் இருக்கும். படம் பார்க்க திரையரங்கத்திற்கு வருகை தரும் ரசிகர்களை இந்த 'சார்ல்ஸ் எண்டர்பிரைசஸ்' ஏமாற்றாது. 'காக்கா முட்டை',' ஐங்கரன்', 'கார்கி', 'ராக்கெட்ரி- தி நம்பி எஃபெக்ட்'' ஆகிய படங்களுக்கு வசனம் எழுதி இருக்கிறேன். தமிழ் மற்றும் மலையாளத்தில் முன்னணி நட்சத்திர நடிகையாக இருக்கும் ஊர்வசியுடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றியது மறக்க இயலாத அனுபவம். '' என்றார்.

நடிகர் குரு சோமசுந்தரம் பேசுகையில், ''  நடிகை ஊர்வசியுடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்ற வேண்டும் என்பது என்னுடைய நெடுநாள் கனவு.‌ இயக்குநர் கதை சொன்னவுடன் உடனே மறுப்பு தெரிவிக்காமல் ஒப்புக்கொண்டேன். இருப்பினும் கலையரசன் கதாபாத்திரம் மீது எனக்கு ஒரு ஈர்ப்பு இருந்தது. பிறகு ஊர்வசியுடன் நடிக்க கிடைத்த வாய்ப்பை தவற விடக்கூடாது என்பதற்காக சம்மதம் தெரிவித்தேன். படம் சிறப்பாக அமைந்திருக்கிறது. மலையாளத்தில் வெற்றி பெற்றது போல் தமிழிலும் வெற்றி பெறும் என உறுதியாக நம்புகிறேன். தயாரிப்பாளர் டாக்டர் அஜித் ஜாய். மிக தனித்துவமானவர். அவர்தான் புதிய திறமையாளர்களை கண்டறிந்து அவர்களுக்கு வாய்ப்பளித்து அடையாளப்படுத்தியவர். இதற்காக அவருக்கு இந்த தருணத்தில் நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.'' என்றார்.

நடிகர் கலையரசன் பேசுகையில்,'' நான் மலையாளத்தில் நடிக்க ஒப்புக்கொண்ட முதல் படம் இது. அதனால் இந்தப் படம் எனக்கு ஸ்பெஷல். படத்தின் கதையை தொலைபேசி வாயிலாகத்தான் இயக்குநரிடமிருந்து கேட்டேன். இருப்பினும் இந்த திரைப்படத்தில் ஊர்வசி மேடமும், குரு அண்ணாவும் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்றவுடன், மறுக்காமல் ஒப்புக்கொண்டேன். தற்போது அனைத்து மொழி ரசிகர்களும்... அனைத்து மொழி திரைப்படங்களையும் பார்வையிடுகிறார்கள். அதனால் எந்த எல்லைக்கோடும் இல்லை என்பதால், மலையாளத்தில் நடிக்க சம்மதித்தேன். ஊர்வசி மேடம் ஒரு காட்சியை இயக்குநர் விளக்கும்போது... அதனை எப்படி உள்வாங்கிக் கொள்கிறார்கள்... அதனை எப்படி வெளிப்படுத்துகிறார்கள்... எந்த வகையில் மேம்படுத்துகிறார்கள்... என்பதனை உடனிருந்து காணும் பாக்கியம் கிடைத்தது. என்னுடைய திரையுலக பயணத்தில் நான் சந்தித்த மிக சிறந்த தயாரிப்பாளர் டாக்டர் அஜித் ஜாய். படத்திற்கு என்ன தேவை.. படக்குழுவினருக்கு என்ன தேவை.

 என்பதனை தெரிந்து கொண்டு அனைத்து உதவிகளையும் செய்து, அனைவரையும் சமமாக நடத்தினார். இதற்காக அவருக்கு பிரத்யேக நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.‌ தமிழ் ரசிகர்களுக்கும் இந்த படம் பிடிக்கும் என்று உறுதியாக நம்புகிறேன். திரையரங்கத்திற்கு வருகை தந்து ஆதரவளிக்க வேண்டும் என கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்'' என்றார்.

இயக்குநர் லலிதா சுபாஷ் சுப்பிரமணியன் பேசுகையில், '' நான் நிறைய தமிழ் படங்களை பார்த்து ரசித்திருக்கிறேன். என்னுடைய  இயக்கத்தில் தயாராகி இருக்கும் இந்த திரைப்படம், சிறிய முதலீட்டில் உருவான திரைப்படமாக இருந்தாலும்... அனைத்து தரப்பினருக்கும் ஏற்ற திரைப்படமாக இருக்கும். இதற்கு நிச்சயம் உங்களின் ஆதரவு தேவை'' என்றார்.

நடிகை ஊர்வசி பேசுகையில்,'' சின்ன முதலீட்டில் தயாராகும் படங்களுக்கும், பெரிய முதலீட்டில் தயாராகும் படங்களுக்கும் உழைப்பு ஒரே அளவு தான். இருந்தாலும் சின்ன பட்ஜெட்டில் தயாராகும் படங்களுக்கு விளம்பரம் அதிகம் தேவைப்படுகிறது.

ஒரு படத்திற்கு பலம் அதன் தயாரிப்பாளர் தான். பொதுவாக பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் எங்களைப் போன்ற நடிகைகளிடம் பிடித்த நடிகர்? பிடித்த நடிகை? பிடித்த கதாபாத்திரம்? பிடித்த இயக்குநர்? என கேள்விகளை கேட்கிறார்கள். இனி பிடித்த தயாரிப்பாளர் யார்? என்றும் கேளுங்கள். ஏனென்றால் இந்த படத்தின் தயாரிப்பாளர் எனக்கு ரொம்ப பிடிக்கும். வேறு சில தயாரிப்பாளர்களை பற்றி புகார் அளிக்கவும் வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கும்.

படம் தரமான படமாக இருக்கிறதா? அனைத்து தரப்பினரையும் கவரும் அம்சங்கள் இருக்கிறதா? வணிகரீதியாகவும் அமைந்திருக்கிறதா? என ஒவ்வொரு விசயத்தையும் பார்த்து பார்த்து, தயாரிப்பாளர் அஜித் ஜாய் இந்த படத்தை உருவாக்கி இருக்கிறார்.

கொரோனா காலகட்டத்தில் வீட்டில் வேலை இல்லாமல் உட்கார்ந்திருந்த போது, குறும்படங்கள் இணைய தொடர்களில் நடித்து உற்சாகமாக இருந்தேன். அப்போது இயக்குநர் லலிதா சுபாஷ் சுப்பிரமணியன் தொலைபேசி மூலம் தொடர்பு கொண்டு நான் நடித்த இணைய தொடர் குறித்து பாராட்டி பேசினார். வழக்கம்போல் அவருக்கு தன்னம்பிக்கை ஊட்டும் விசயங்களை பேசினேன். அடுத்த நாள் மீண்டும் தொலைபேசி மூலம் தொடர்பு கொண்டு, ஒரு சிக்கலான அம்மா கதாபாத்திரம் இருக்கிறது. அதனை நீங்கள் தான் நடிக்க வேண்டும் என கேட்டுக் கொண்டார். கதையை முழுவதுமாக விவரிக்க இயலாது. ஒரு வரியில் சொல்கிறேன் என்றார். பிறகு அதனை குறுஞ்செய்தியாக அனுப்பினார். படித்தவுடன் பிடித்தது. ஒரு மடத்தனமான... மூடத்தனமான.. நம்பிக்கை கொண்ட அம்மா கதாபாத்திரம். அந்த அம்மாவிற்கு மாலை ஆறு மணிக்கு மேல் பார்வையில் தடுமாற்றம் உள்ள மகன் ஒருவன் இருக்கிறான். அவன் உலகத்தில் உள்ள மற்றவர்களைப் போல் வாழ வேண்டும் என அந்த தாய் விரும்புகிறாள். அதனால் அந்த மகனுக்கு ஏராளமான கட்டுப்பாடுகளை விதிக்கிறாள். இந்த கட்டுப்பாடுகள்... அந்த பையனின் தன்னம்பிக்கையை பறித்து விடுகிறது. இந்த அம்மாவின் கணவனோ.. கலைஞனாக வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசையில், அதற்கான முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். கணவனும் மனைவியும் வீட்டில் ஒன்றாக இருந்தாலும் மனமொத்து இல்லாததால் இந்தப் பையன், தமிழ் பேசும் பகுதிக்கு சென்று.. அங்கிருக்கும் கலையரசனிடம் நட்புக் கொள்கிறார்.

அப்பா, அம்மா, தாய், தங்கை.. என பல உறவுகளின் மீது கட்டாயமாக அன்பு செலுத்த வேண்டிய நிலை ஏற்படும். இதற்கென எழுதப்படாத சட்டங்களும் நிறைய உண்டு. ஆனால் நட்பு அப்படியல்ல. நட்புக்கு எந்த மொழியும் இல்லை. எந்த ஜாதியும் இல்லை. எந்த மதமும் இல்லை. எந்த நாட்டு எல்லையும் இல்லை. அத்தகைய விலை மதிக்க இயலாத உயர்ந்த நட்பின் மூலம் அவன் வாழ்க்கையில் மாற்றம் ஏற்படுகிறது.

காதல் தான் உலகில் சிறந்த உணர்வு என சொல்பவர்கள் உண்டு. ஆனால் நட்பு என்பது ஆயுள் உள்ளவரை உடன் வரும். இதுதான் இப்படத்தின் ஹைலைட்டான விசயம்.

Brainobrain Kids Academy, one of the world’s leading kids’ institutes for self-empowerment, and a pioneer in abacus education in India, organised a global walkathon today to create awareness about the promotion of mental health among children. The event attracted the participation of over 500+ people from all age groups and various walks of life, including children, teenagers, and adults. 

 

Mr. Anand Subramaniam, Managing Director, Brainobrain Kids Academy flagged off the event, which started at Hindi Prachar Sabha, T Nagar and ended at Venkatnarayana Road via Pondy Bazaar & Panagal Park. Having the theme of ‘Positive Mental Health for Children’, the walkathon involved participants raising slogans, displaying placards, and distributing flyers to spread ideas, such as taking conscious breaks from electronic devices, and creating platforms for socialising, for the promotion of mental health among kids. 

 

The Chennai event was a part of Brainobrain’s global awareness initiative, which comprised walkathons held today in 500+ different locations in India & Abroad, the walkathons also marked the 20th anniversary of Brainobrain. 

 

Commenting about the event, Mr Anand Subramaniam, said, “Mental health of children has become a growing concern among parents, educationists, and medical professionals in recent years. As a leading kids’ institute in India and across over 45 countries, we consider it our responsibility to raise awareness about the challenges to mental health and the ways to protect our kids from mental health issues. We are happy that the walkathon in Chennai, like in other locations, attracted a large and enthusiastic participation in support of the cause. This walkathon is just a forerunner of many events planned for the year, with a focus on promoting positive changes in children's mental health.” 

 

He pointed out that according to WHO, about 20% of the children and adolescents in the world have a mental health condition, and, globally, suicide is the second leading cause of death among individuals aged 15 to 29. The ever-increasing screen time and decreasing outdoor activities further exacerbate mental health issues in this already vulnerable population. In this context, there is an urgent need to prioritise and promote mental health among youth.

Mr. Anand also highlighted that the walkathons served as a significant means to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Brainobrain. “We brainstormed and came up with many ideas to celebrate this milestone year of Brainobrain. While each idea had its own allure and grandeur, we concluded that organising walkathons is better, as it could effectively address the challenges and foster the development of the younger generation. Our children deserve a life of excellence, and a sound mind is an essential prerequisite. It plays a pivotal role in all aspects of life, including physical health, education, career, and relationships.”

'Rave Party' wraps up shoot, to hit theatres in August

'Rave Party' is a film that is coming up with a diverse storyline. Directed by Raaju Bonagaani, the film is being produced under the banner of Bonagaani Entertainments, has successfully completed its shoot and entered the post-production stage. The makers are planning to release the film in theatres in the month of August.

Starring Krish Siddipalli, Ritika Chakraborty, Aishwarya Gowdaa, Suchandra Prasad, and Tarak Ponnappa among others in key roles, Rave Party' is completed its shoot in just 35 days in various locations like Mysore, Udupi, Bangalore and Mangalore.

Shaped as a pan-India flick, Rave Party will be released in Kannada, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages. Aishwarya Gowdaa is getting introduced as a protagonist with this film.

Following the completion of the shooting, director Raaju Bonagaani said that he was happy to complete the movie in about 35 days, just one schedule. "On this occasion, I would like to thank the actors and technicians who helped to complete the film on the same schedule within the deadline. The post-production work is currently underway. Usually, Rave parties are celebrated in places like Udupi, Goa and Bangalore. So to give it a fresh and lively look, the movie was shot in these picturesque locations. And how do the rave parties begin, who is involved in these so-called rave parties? And what damage a rave party causes to the youth is clearly shown in this film. I am sure the content of the film will be liked by the youth. Currently, the post-production work is in full swing. Preparations are being made to release the film in August," the director said.

• In more developed states, diabetes prevalence seems to be plateauing off, while in less developed ones, further steep rise in prevalence likely.

 

National, June 8^th, 2023:  A ground-breaking research paper of a comprehensive epidemiological study funded by ICMR has been published in the globally acclaimed medical journal, The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology. Funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Govt. of India, the study paper - Indian Council of Medical Research–India Diabetes (ICMR-INDIAB) shockingly reveals India has a much higher burden of metabolic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) This cross-sectional, population-based survey of adults aged ≥20 years, sampled a total of 1,13,043 individuals (33,537 urban and 79,506 rural residents) in 31 States and Union Territories of the country using a stratified, multistage sampling design.  In this large representative sample of individuals from both urban and rural India, the study measured the prevalence of metabolic NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, and dyslipidaemia. It also identified regional and state-level variations in the prevalence of these NCDs across the nation.

Urban vs rural difference: Urban regions had higher rates of all metabolic NCDs than rural areas, with the exception of prediabetes.

 

New National estimates for diabetes and other NCD’s: Our study estimates that in 2021, in India there are 101 million people with diabetes and 136 million people with prediabetes, 315 million people had high blood pressure, 254 million had generalized obesity, and 351 million had abdominal obesity. Additionally, 213 million people had hypercholesterolaemia.

The in-depth report is likely to have a huge impact on the healthcare policies for the country specific to NCDs. The findings of this study are very significant as they provide robust estimates of NCDs for the nation. Compared to earlier estimates, India currently has a substantially greater prevalence of metabolic NCDs. In India, the diabetes epidemic is in transition, with some states having already reached their peak rates while others are just getting started. The study also demonstrates that despite the fact that all metabolic NCDs are more common in urban regions, rural areas have significantly greater prevalence rates than that reported previously “

Our study results have multiple implications for the planning and provision of health care in India. State governments in India, who are primarily in charge of providing healthcare in their respective regions, will be especially interested in the detailed state-level data on these NCDs as it will allow them to develop evidence-based interventions to successfully halt the progression of NCDs and manage their complications.”

Covering all 28 states, two union territories, and the national capital region of Delhi, the survey was executed an extensive sample size of 1,13,043 individuals. The results of the study are published in the prestigious and globally renowned medical journal The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology.
