The Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council is the premier Nursing Council in the whole of South-East Asia, established in the year 1926.
International Nurses Day is being celebrated every year on the 12th May across the world to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing to acknowledge the nurse’s contribution towards healthcare services and to recognize the nurses for their incredible and tireless work.
The Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council has taken imitative to honour the nurses by announcing awards to the ‘Best Nursing Personnel’ & ‘Corona Warrior’ for the year 2020 & 2021 held on 29/12/2021.
The most respected Dr. J. Radhakrishnan, I.A.S, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Tamilnadu, the chief guest of the program bestowed ‘Best Nursing Personnel Awards’ to 14 nurses, ‘Life Time Achievement Awards’ to 3 nurses and ‘Corona Warrior Awards’ to 32 nurses, who contributed to the profession of nursing and for rendering selfless services to the welfare of public during COVID pandemic. Thiru.Dr.S.Gurunathan, President, Tamilnadu Nurses and midwives council and Director, Medical and Rural health services welcomed the gathering. Dr.Mrs.S.Ani Grace Kalaimathi, Registrar of The Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council presented the report of the council for the year 2020 and 2021. The program came to an end with the vote of thanks by Dr.A.F.Annie Raja, the Vice President of the Council. The Members of the Council and other distinguished guest graced the occasion by their presence.
