’ஒன் வே’ - திரை விமர்சனம்

Produced by Rajathi Pandian under G Group Productions, directed by MS Sakthivel, the movie 'One Way' stars Panpannan, Kowai Sarala, Ara, Abdullah, Charles Vinod and others.

Hero Prapanchan, who lives with his mother Kowai Sarala and younger sister Ara, is struggling to find a proper job. On the one hand, to increase the interest on the loan taken for agriculture, on the other hand, he is doing the work he got without getting a permanent job.

Meanwhile, Vinod Charles, who lends money on interest, forces the women in the family who are unable to repay the loan to give in to his desire. Many women are affected by him and he sets his sights on the hero's younger sister. In order to pay off the debt of Charles Vinod, who insists that if the loan is not paid, he must send the girl away with him, the hero Panchanan decides to go abroad to work. For that, Amma Kowai Sarala sells the thali she kept in memory of her father and sends him to work abroad.

The hero Prapanhan, who has to go abroad for work, is unable to go abroad due to some unexpected problems and gets stuck in Mumbai, at the same time he is unable to go back to his hometown because he has lost the money he had in his hand.

In this case, Nayagan Prapanchan gets a chance to earn money. In that game, the rich gamble the lives of the innocent The hero decides to participate in the game even though the lives of the participants are at stake. At the same time, Interpol police are trying to stop the game.

In the end, did the man participate in the competition and win? Or died? What is that sports competition? Why does the Interpol police want to stop it? It is 'one way' to say it excitedly and briskly.

The film starts with the woes of a poor farming family in the village and the abuses of moneylenders, but in the second half, the film gives us the experience of watching a Hollywood film with some shocking information that happens in reality.

Prapanchan, who plays the hero, fits the village character perfectly. A man who works multiple jobs to ease his family's woes, pretends that he will not kill his fellow human beings even if he engages in the terrible game of losing his own life.

Aara, who plays the hero's younger sister, is as natural as our girl-next-door. His performance is also very realistic. Aura has a bright future in Kodambakkam as she portrays poor women who are harassed by creditors.

Kovai Sarala, who plays the hero's mother, has once again proved herself to be a great character actress. Charles Vinod's role as a moneylender and his acting are making the movie goers angry.

Playing the pivotal role, Abdullah fits the role and earns praise for his quiet performance. Bhava Chellathurai and other actors in the film have also done their job flawlessly.

Muthukumaran's cinematography adds tremendous strength to the film. He has perfectly displayed the beauty of the village in the first half and in the second half he has manipulated the scenes to such an extent that he changes the angle of the film. Especially the way the competition is played for life is chilling.

Music composer Ashwin Hemand's music makes all the songs listenable and understandable. The background music travels along with the story and has very elegantly given the background music for two different domains in the same plot.

Cinematographer Charan Shanmugam keeps the scenes moving smoothly. The way the match is organized in the second half keeps the viewers in awe.

Written and directed by MS Sakthivel, the screenplay is based on many true incidents. Especially in the first half, he has very strongly recorded the misery of not only the farmers but also their families.

In the second half, the director has told how the entertainment of the rich is ruining the lives of the poor, and the fact that the director has handled those scenes like a Hollywood film is an added strength of the film.

Is this all happening here? Wondering what happens next? The director moves the second half very briskly to make you sit on the edge of your seat and watch.

The film is technically of high quality, including the way the actors were handled, music, cinematography, and at the same time, a new subject is very different, it is told in the background of agriculture, and director MS Sakthivel, who has told interestingly in the lively suspense thriller genre, is sure to roll out the red carpet for Kodambakkam.
